Today’s edition covers a game developer that just had one of the strongest independent launches in Australian gaming history, a diagnostics company that unlocked the world’s largest healthcare market overnight, and a gold junior that built a million-ounce resource for less than twelve dollars an ounce. Alongside those, a rare earths developer cutting ties with China, a Cuban oil story taking a dramatic turn, and a string of drilling results that deserve more attention than they’ll get. This is the part of the market most people overlook. That’s exactly why we cover it.

HEADLINE STORIES

PlaySide Studios (PLY) — Game developer posts blockbuster launch PlaySide’s original IP title MOUSE: P.I. For Hire sold an estimated 360,000 units and generated US$10.4 million in gross sales in its opening weekend across Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2. The title hit number two on Steam’s global best-selling paid chart on launch day, scoring 95% overwhelmingly positive from players. Net revenue to PlaySide after platform fees is estimated at US$6.3 million — a company-defining moment for an ASX developer building its own IP.

Lumos Diagnostics (LDX) — FDA clearance expands addressable market fifteen-fold Lumos received US FDA 510(k) clearance with CLIA waiver for its FebriDx rapid diagnostic test, opening access to 300,000+ locations and 80 million patients annually across the US. The clearance triggered US$5.5 million in milestone payments and quarterly product revenue surged 243% on the prior period. WellStreet Urgent Care is expanding FebriDx from one site to 44 locations, with 119 more under consideration.

Many Peaks Minerals (MPK) — Maiden 1.3Moz gold resource at A$11.25/oz discovery cost Many Peaks delivered a maiden 1.323 million ounce gold resource at its Ferké Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire at 1.54 g/t, just 13 months after initial drill results. Eighty-three percent sits in the high-confidence measured and indicated categories. A pre-feasibility study is targeted for Q4 2026, with drilling continuing across a broader 37-kilometre gold corridor.

MID-TIER

Peel Mining (PEX) — Aeris Resources is acquiring Peel for its South Cobar Copper Project, while Peel’s remaining assets — including the high-grade Southern Nights Complex — are being demerged into a new ASX-listed company, Spectre Metals. Existing shareholders receive both the acquisition consideration and continued exploration upside.

Barton Gold (BGD) — Bonanza grades at the Challenger open pit in South Australia, with drilling returning 10 metres at 17.7 g/t gold including one metre at 170.7 g/t — previously unmodelled mineralisation sitting directly adjacent to the fully permitted Central Gawler Mill.

VHM (VHM) — Terminated its offtake agreement with China’s Shenghe Resources to pursue broader global buyers, and simultaneously upgraded its Goschen rare earths project to full permitted capacity of 5Mtpa from day one. Final Investment Decision targeted for mid-2026.

Melbana Energy (MAY) — Set to reclaim 100% of its Cuban Block 9 after partner Sonangol defaulted on US$23.5 million in unpaid cash calls. Amistad-1 has been reopened and is producing around 20 barrels per day, against a previously tested stabilised rate of 1,235 barrels per day.

SciDev (SDV) — Second guidance downgrade of the financial year, cutting FY26 revenue from $100-110 million to $82-87 million. Cumulative reduction from initial guidance now sits at around 40%. Management attributes the miss to cyclical and timing-related headwinds.

RAPID FIRE

PPK Group (PPK) — Binding deal to sell its 39.85% stake in Craig International Ballistics for up to A$33.43 million, implying a 100% enterprise value of A$86 million.
